On the agenda
When you look back on your past, do you see a scattered collection of unrelated events? Do you feel like your journey up to where you are now is not a coherent story? Do you feel a disconnect between your past and the questions and worries you might have about your future?
In this workshop, using a variety of creative narrative career counselling methods you will:
- get to work on your own career story in search of direction, cohesion, and meaning;
- gain tools and perspectives for viewing your past, present and future as a coherent story where all your experiences have their place;
- observe the difference between your inner story of self (only accessible to you) and external stories of self (told to others to varying ends, never identical with the inner story).
In this workshop, you will be working mainly individually. There will be some group discussions, but most of the time you will be working silently on your own. You can do the writing exercises in any language that suits you best. Background music might be used during the exercises.
Language: Presentation in English, but you can ask questions also in Finnish and you can do the writing tasks in any language you wish.
Venue: Porthania PIII (Yliopistonkatu 3)
Accessibility: The room has an induction loop. The room is partially unaccessible: the top landing is reachable without using stairs or steps. At the door of the room the is a threshold (appr. 3 cm high). The session slides will be sent to all participants after the event. If you wish to have the slides beforehand, please contact us: [email protected].
